Just because I haven't
had time recently to write anything new I'm posting a random short story I
wrote... Hope you enjoy!
Jeff was dressed in his
nicest flannel shirt, the one his mom bought him for Christmas. His hair was
washed with the shampoo that also had the conditioner in it so it felt baby
soft, his hands has no signs of the soot, saw dust or blue marking chalk that
had caked them just hours earlier. This was it, first date in almost four
years, he was nervous that he let the girl pick the place, from the foods she
spoke of he was convinced she has a more refined pallet then he, not to mention
each meal was a battle with his lactose and acid issues. There was no doubt about
it; this had the potential to turn out bad.
He arrived at the
restaurant, there wasn't any parking lot, and his blue pickup looked just
slightly out of place under the carport decorated with tiny purple lights and
vases full of flowers with names he was sure he couldn't pronounce.
A valet approached his
window "ticket." he said with an out stretched hand holding a little
yellow piece of paper with red script stamped into it. "You know, I don't
really like paying for a valet, no offense, it's just not really my thing,
where can I park?"
"I'm sorry sir,
there is no public parking, and the valet is free though."
"Oh ok here you go,
but please don't touch the seat, it took me like two months to get it the way I
like It." he said handing over the keys. Free valet huh? This place is
going to cost me a fortune, this girl better be worth it.
He climbed the three
concrete steps that have been painted to look like marble, to a landing leading
to two large wooden doors; the landing was made of real marble.
As he pulled open one of
the doors a man on the other side quickly responded and took the weight of the
door out of Jeff's hand.
"Welcome to le
petit mort"
"You’ve got that
right."
"Pardon me
sir?"
"Heh nothing."
Jeff suddenly realized how out of his element he was here, who was this girl?
Why from the conversation they had did she think this would be the kind of
place he would like?
"So... I'm looking
for a Girl I'm supposed to meet here, Jessica Blanc"
"Yes sir she's
waiting for you, but I'm terribly sorry, this is a black tie event, I'm afraid
I can not let you in without proper entire."
" Ha!" Jeff
laughed not so much in Jacque, here's face but in his general direction.
"I got that covered!" he reaches up in buttons his top two buttons
"I never leave home with out it." folds back his shirt and reviles a
bow tie, dark blue, placed perfectly on the top of he's sternum. Neatly
tattooed on his neck.
'Jacque' chuckles and
because he's not really sure what else to do, leads Jeff to the table waiting
for him inside. Jeff is never so relieved to have caved under a drunken dare
before, and Jessica, looks smoking hot in a very low cut formal gown, night
worth it!
